Privacy, in plain words
Photographs of your meals say a lot about you. Here is exactly what happens to them.
What happens to my photos?
A photo is sent to the server, shrunk, and analysed. Only the small version is kept, attached to your entry. The original is discarded, and location data in the photo is stripped before anything else happens.
Do you have my password?
No. Sign-in goes through Apple or Google, so eatni never sees a password and has none to lose.
Are there ads? Do you sell my data?
No, and no. There is nothing to sell it for.
Can I delete something?
Any entry can be deleted from the app, which removes its photo too. For removing an entire account, write to privacy@eatni.cz and it will be done by hand.
How accurate are the numbers?
They are estimates from a photograph, and sometimes wrong. That is why every value is editable, and why eatni flags the ones it is unsure about instead of hiding the doubt.
Does the website track me?
No cookies, no analytics, nothing to consent to. That is why there is no consent banner.
Does it cost anything?
No.
The formal bit
eatni is operated by the author of the app as the data controller. The data processed is: the identifier your sign-in provider gives us, your e-mail address if the provider supplies one, the photos you take, the nutrition values derived from them, and any body profile or activity you enter.
Photos are analysed by Anthropic's Claude model in order to estimate nutrition. They are not used to train it.
Data is stored in the EU. You may ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or its deletion at privacy@eatni.cz.
